THE EX 2018 presented by DMRBIKES & save the date for the 2018 BIKEFEST

THE EX presented by DMRBIKES will return for the third year to the much-loved trails around Minehead/Exmoor after a sell-out event in 2017. Once again just 80 riders will challenge themselves to three unforgettable days of mountain biking.

More than just a race, the all-inclusive THE EX is an adventure filled event with punishing climbs, beautiful singletrack and stunning descents on some of the least ridden trails in the country. There will be fine organic food and drink, evening entertainment and plenty outside of the race tape to create a truly unforgettable experience.

The event:
Taking place over three days THE EX will explore over 100km of Exmoor’s finest trails with an estimated 20+ timed stages. Each day will be a big, tough, challenging tour of Exmoor’s finest and is guaranteed to leave you full up but hungry for more.

Riders will be treated to leg-churning climbs, cliff-top single-track, summit-to-sea with a pub-at-the-bottom downhills, tight and technical push-yourself steep stuff and white-knuckle hold-on-and-grin moorland hammering. And so much beautiful, flowing, pristine single-track. Just to make life a little easier, we’ll give you one uplift at the start of each day, and we’ll keep you fed and watered throughout the rides. Don’t miss our now World famous vintage enduro tea stops!

The riding and racing are just a small part of THE EX. The entire event has been handcrafted to create a unique, one-of-a-kind, can’t-wait-to-do-it-again adventure. Everything from the organic and locally sourced food and drink, to the bustling event village with its packed expo and demos, to the evening celebrations, will create an experience that’s way more than just a race. You can find all the details of THE EX here.

You won’t find better than this anywhere else in the UK. Whether you’re at THE EX to race or just to ride and have fun, you’re guaranteed an experience to remember. But don’t just take our word for it. Here a few ‘voices’ from the last couple of years.

What the press and riders said:
“The descents were unreal … It’s 3 days of loads of miles, loads of downhill, riding with your friends, awesome food. It’s been brilliant, I’ll be back for sure.”
Jono Jones, 2017 overall winner

“Epic concept. A very mate’s-race feel to it which is exceptionally good fun. The food is amazing, the people are amazing, brilliant event.
Charlie Williams, Welsh Gravity Enduro Series

“It’s clear from taking part in the event that a friendly, laid-back and chilled vibe was the order of the day – the organisers had managed to bottle the spirit of enduro racing.”
Pinkbike

“Exmoor left a lasting impression on the riders – most of them being surprised by its beauty, the quality of trails on offer and the huge variety of terrain. It clearly shows THE EX is here to stay.
Singletrack

“Mike, Paul and the team have definitely pulled a blinder with the EX, managing to combine all the above to create a brilliant, friendly and memorable event. With only 80 places, getting into next year’s event will be tight, but totally worth it if you’re one of the lucky ones.
IMB

“Shall we be back there next year; does a bear shit in the woods?”
EnduroMTB

Mike and Paul have set the standard … Grassroots multi-day racing focused around putting a smile on people’s faces, with fantastic attention to detail.”

Before we go – SAVE THE DATE:

Besides THE EX we are working on another ‘iconic’ event which will take place this summer. The Bristol Bikefest (including the Steve Worland ride singletrack hard & drink a swig of cider per lap memorial cup 2018) is coming back with an updated course, new venue and a new partner – say hello to the 2018 Bristol Bikefest powered (or rather fuelled) by the Bristol Beer Factory.

The event will take place on Saturday the 30th June. The website is currently under construction. Once everything is up and running, we will let everybody know – but if you used to ride and love the Bikefest as much as we did – then make sure you SAVE THE DATE and be part of the reincarnation of the Fest!
